AROUND AN ALMOND TREE
LA CASA DEL ALMENDRO is structured around the figure of an almond tree in bloom, a beautiful natural image that gives light and color to the entire house. Its location, open and in the center of the rooms, articulates the whole offering a spatial continuity that is projected from the interior to the exterior of the house.
A CHANGING PERCEPTION
The use of large glass windows, protected by solar protection, offers the house a changing appearance of light and color throughout the daytime hours in which the sun falls on the house. Also, the sequence of glazed spaces facilitates the perception of continuous space, where the rooms participate, articulated, one from the other.
AN OPEN GEOMETRY
The almost rectangular geometry of the floor plan opens up to the east and north orientations while it leans out and protects to the south and west. By means of a central OPEN PATIO, which enables direct natural lighting, the set of its main rooms is articulated.
CONTINUITY BETWEEN INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR
The opening of the enclosures and partitions of the house enables continuity between the interior space and the open exterior space of the estate. The use of plant species, both inside and outside the house, contributes to “it seems that the outside is already inside”.
