A LANDSCAPE OF FOLDED PLATFORMS: A NEW CULTURAL VISION FOR THE CITY OF ALICANTE
One main element takes centre stage in our architectural proposal: a LARGE WHITE ROOF—conceived as a folded platform to improve ACCESSIBILITY—which organises the different heights required by the programme and offers new and different VIEWS OF ALICANTE FROM ABOVE, based on a new dialogue between the Port and the City. The image of the building suggests a large white wave that crystallises at the edge of the port as a SHADE that shelters us inside, offering a gradual transition from the EXPERIENCES of citizens to the Mediterranean Sea.
A TRANSPARENT PUBLIC SPACE FOR ENCOUNTERS
The proposal defines a SOCIAL SPACE for citizens and tourists to meet, MULTIFUNCTIONAL, highly flexible and capable of adapting to programme changes, with large VIEWING SPACES to climb up to, a new landscape of roofs articulated by walkable surfaces that allow it to be explored in its entirety.
