HIS DESIGN

The new playground of the Nursery School is designed as an open space for the child to learn in space THROUGH MOVEMENT AND SENSORY CONTACT of the forms that surround him –materials, plants and his own classmates–.

A TOUCH EXPERIENCE

The Garden of Touch encourages a tactile (as opposed to purely visual) architecture using haptic mechanisms such as:

…a tour around, through ramps and plateaus, to enhance the MOTOR CAPACITY and BALANCE of the children;

…a circuit of curved shapes to go up and down steps;

…a corner for the slides;

…a central space for 'close-distance activities';

… some planters with fruit trees to TOUCH, SEE, SMELL AND TASTE;

THE RHYTHM OF COLOR

The breakdown of the skin through color produces rhythm. And it is that the rhythm emphasizes and enhances the COGNITIVE CAPACITY of the children. Along the entire perimeter of the Garden's skin, a rhythmic sequence is proposed that invites AN EXPERIENCE OF ROADS.

THE INNER SKIN

The vertical surfaces that surround the space have been covered with colored ceramic pieces that, through vertical bars, establish the rhythm of a continuous sequence. For its materialization, small-format matte enameled ceramic has been used.
